Week of August 7 & 14: Meet your Arrive Ready to Study Faculty

Join us to meet your Arrive Ready to Study Faculty member and Peer Mentor! In this interactive webinar, you’ll have a chance to meet your Arrive Ready to Study learning module faculty lead, chat about all things Arrive Ready and ask questions about getting ready for your first classes! Here’s your opportunity to get to know your instructor, share your questions and reflections about the Arrive Ready to Study course materials, and learn new tips for your first year of studies.  

These sessions are open to all incoming students in the Faculty of Arts & Science. You are welcome to drop in at any time and stay for as long as you would like during the session.

Webinar #1: Welcome to Arrive Ready

At the official kick-off webinar for Arrive Ready 2023, we welcomed our incoming class to the Faculty of Arts & Science at U of T! Tune into this webinar to meet your Sidney Smith Commons (SSC) Intern team of upper-year students who are here to support you as you prepare for first year. You can hear all about our journeys to U of T and all the insider tips and lessons we learned along the way!

Webinar #2: Getting Involved at U of T

Discover how you can get involved on campus to make friends, explore your interests and build your academic and work experience. Gain valuable insights into life at U of T from the SSC Intern team as we share how we got involved with clubs, study groups, research opportunities and on-campus jobs.

Webinar #3: First-Year Opportunities

As a first-year Arts & Science student, you get exclusive access to First-Year Learning Communities (FLCs), First-Year Foundations Seminars and First-Year Ones programs. These unique opportunities to connect with professors and other students in engaging, small group discussions can be a great addition to your schedule! Tune in to this webinar where we shared our experiences participating in these programs and discussed which options may best suit your goals as you start first year.

Webinar # 5: Course Enrolment Tips

At our fifth webinar, we welcomed Student Services Advisors at the Faculty of Arts & Science, who provided an overview of how to best use key resources to prepare for first-year course enrolment, including ACORN, Timetable Builder and the Academic Calendar.

Webinar # 6: Course Planning with an Academic Advisor

Learn from academic advisors from our College Registrar’s Offices who shared their years of wisdom advising first-year students on making important decisions around course selection and academic planning.

Webinar # 7: Last Minute Course Enrolment Questions

Tune in for an overview of how to enrol in courses hosted by Arts & Science Student Services Advisors and our team of Sidney Smith Commons Interns.
