Arrive Ready Learning Modules

Arrive Ready to Study Modules

Arrive Ready to Study learning modules are developed with Arts & Science faculty members and will include a mix of lectures, skill-building activities and practice quizzes designed to support first-year learning. You can access learning modules independently whenever your schedule allows, without the worry of marks or deadlines. 

Arrive Ready to Study learning modules will be available on your Arrive Ready Quercus page beginning July 21  — no registration required.

Preparing for University Math Program (PUMP) Modules

Get ready for your first-year math courses by participating in:

PUMP I

Dates: TBD 
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week for six weeks 
Class Schedule: This is an online, synchronous course.
Lectures: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 am – 1 pm EDT
Tutorials: TBA 

PUMP Level I is ideal for students who are: 

  • Looking for an introduction to pre-calculus topics 
  • Studying outside the field of mathematics who want to become functionally literate in math 
  • Want to learn (or re-learn) high school pre-calculus  
  • Intend to enrol in MAT135H or MAT133Y1 

Register to join PUMP I: Starting June 2 
Registration deadline: July 2 at 9 am EDT 
Registration is limited.

PUMP II

Dates: TBD 
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week for six weeks 
Class Schedule: This is an online, synchronous course.  
Lectures: Mondays and Wednesdays, 3 – 5 pm EDT
Tutorials: TBA 

PUMP Level II is ideal for students who: 

  • Are interested in a review of high school pre-calculus followed by an intro to logic, problem solving and methods of proof. 
  • Intend to enrol in MAT137Y1, MAT157Y1 or MAT223H1. 

Register to join PUMP II: Starting June 2 
Registration deadline: July 2 at 9 am EDT
Registration is limited. 

PUMP Self-Guided

Dates: TBD  

  • Ideal for students who do not require a thorough review of high school mathematics or prefer to complete learning modules at their own pace.   
  • All students will be provided access to an optional, self-guided version of PUMP that contains learning modules tailored to support your preparation for MAT133Y1, MAT135H, MAT137Y1, MAT157Y1 or MAT223H1.  

No registration required. PUMP Self-Guided will be provided to all newly admitted Arts & Science students on Quercus, U of T’s learning platform. 

Registration for PUMP I and PUMP II open on June 2. 

Registration deadline: July 2 at 9 am EDT. 

Registration for one free PUMP learning module (PUMP I or PUMP II) through Arrive Ready is only available for incoming first-year students in the Faculty of Arts & Science.  All other interested students must register through the  Department of Mathematics.
