Arrive Ready is a free online program for incoming first-year Faculty of Arts & Science, St. George campus students. Register for one or more of the following modules to prepare for your first-year studies, make friends and connect with your future professors.
Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science
Dates: July 26-August 20, 2021
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week

Meet the Student Team: Abdus and Sofija
Get an inside view of what to expect in your upcoming computer science classes. Learning activities will include academic prep on math and computer fundamentals to prepare for the first-year course Foundations of Computer Science I (CSC110Y1), tools to develop your study skills and helpful tips from upper-year students. All students will be placed in a weekly study group where they’ll meet future friends and classmates.
Arrive Ready Math: Preparing for University Math Program (PUMP) Self-Guided is included for all Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science students. This module will review high school-level math content to help prepare you for first-year math courses (MAT 135 or MAT 137) with pre-recorded lectures and exercises.
Optional Add-On Modules
Students have the option to sign up for an Arrive Ready to Write module to prepare for university-level writing and/or an Arrive Ready to Communicate in English module to help develop English language communication skills. These self-guided modules will each require an additional 3-5 hours per week.
Lead an Arrive Ready Study Group
Start your leadership journey at U of T! You are invited to be a study group leader as part of Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science. Group leaders will receive training from an upper-year student on how to facilitate your study group — no experience necessary. You can sign up to lead a study group when you register for Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science.

In addition to Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science, students are welcome to sign up for additional skill-building modules.
Arrive Ready Math: PUMP
Arrive Ready Math: PUMP is a six-week course designed for students to review high school-level math content. This is a more intensive version of the self-guided module included in Arrive Ready to Study Computer Science.
Based on your current experience and comfort in math, you can register for either PUMP Level I or PUMP Level II.
PUMP I
Dates: July 13-August 19, 2021
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week for 6 weeks
Class Schedule: Lectures Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11am-1pm (ET); Tutorials Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3-5pm (ET)
PUMP Level I reviews high school-level math for students who intend to register for MAT135H, MAT133Y1 or MAT186H1.
PUMP II
Dates: July 12-August 23, 2021
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week for 6 weeks
Class Schedule: Lectures Mondays and Wednesdays, 11am-1pm (ET); Tutorials Mondays and Wednesdays, 3-5pm (ET)
PUMP Level II reviews high school-level math for students who intend to register for MAT137Y1 and MAT157Y1, MAT223H1 or MAT194H1.

Arrive Ready to Communicate in English
For students whose first language is not English, these modules will help you build your English language skills and practice communicating with other students.
Arrive Ready to Communicate in English: Express Ideas with Integrity
Dates: July 12-16, 2021
Time Commitment: 10-12 hours
Learn how to effectively express your academic ideas in English and incorporate academic sources into your writing.
Arrive Ready to Communicate in English: Strategies for Effective Course Participation
Dates: July 19-23, 2021
Time Commitment: 10-12 hours
Most courses include participation grades that reflect your engagement with course content. These grades are usually measured through your activity in tutorials, seminars or office hours with your professors. In this module, you’ll learn strategies and tips to make the most of your participation in your courses.
