A&S Exploration Days

Throughout February, the Faculty of Arts & Science will offer a variety of in-person and online workshops, events and resources to help students prepare for program selection, explore future career pathways and learn more about experiential learning opportunities.

Strategic Steps: Navigating Competitive Programs
Program Exploration at your College & Department

A&S Exploration Days will allow you to explore your future through:

  • Program exploration: Engage with faculty, staff, and peers from different departments to gain valuable insight and guidance as you plan your academic path.
  • Career exploration: Learn how different careers can inform your program choices and shape your long-term goals.
  • Experiential Learning Exploration: Discover hands-on experiential learning opportunities that can enrich your degree and expand your academic journey.
  • Academic support: Get support with the tools you will need to apply for programs including the Program Toolkit, ACORN and the Academic Calendar.

A&S Exploration Days Fair

February 25 & 26, 2026, 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sidney Smith Hall, first floor 

Open to all A&S students, the A&S Exploration Days Fair brings together faculty, staff, students and advisors to help you plan your next steps.

Department Expo

Location: Huron Study Space

Two days to explore over 400 A&S programs. Connect with faculty, staff, and fellow students to discover the options that best fit your interests and goals.  

Experiential Learning Lobby

Location: Sidney Smith Hall lobby

Drop by to learn how experiential learning can enhance your degree. Meet with staff and students to explore opportunities such as:   

  • Internships 
  • Undergraduate research
  • Community-engaged learning
  • Global learning experiences

Exploration Commons

Location: Sidney Smith Commons

Participate in interactive activities and discussions, focused on program and career exploration, designed to help you move forward with confidence. Engage in:  

  • Roundtable discussions
  • Video showcases
  • Creative career exploration activities
  • Hands-on demonstrations
  • One-on-one sessions with academic advisors

Strategic Steps: Navigating Competitive Programs

Virtual session for students applying to limited enrolment or highly competitive programs 

These one-hour online sessions help you explore flexible pathways and build a clear roadmap for success. Learn how to identify open and limited program options and understand how to stay proactive in your academic planning.  

Consider attending if you are planning on applying to any of the following programs: 

Specialist Programs: 

Computer Science, Data Science, Pathobiology, Statistical Science: Methods & Practice 

Major Programs: 

Biomedical Toxicology, Computer Science, Criminology & Sociolegal Studies, Economics, Ethics, Society & Law, Health Studies, Immunology, International Relations, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Pharmacology & Biomedical Toxicology (General), Physiology, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics 

⇩ February 17, 2026, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Life Sciences 

For students interested in medical school, collaborative life science programs, neuroscience, Immunology, psychology, and related fields.

⇩ February 18, 2026, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Technology & Data 

For students interested in computer science, data science, actuarial science, statistics, economics, and related fields.  

⇩ February 19, 2025, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Law & Social Sciences

For students interested in pursuing law school, criminology, international relations, industrial relations, sociology, public health and related fields. 

Program Exploration at your College & Department

You can attend events hosted by your college and academic departments. At these events, you can meet with academic advisors for course and program guidance, speak directly with instructors about academic expectations and ask questions to make informed decisions about your program choices.
