RECRUIT CLASSMATES TO JOIN YOUR RSG
As an RSG Leader, you play an important role in finding students excited to study together in an RSG. Four ways to encourage students to join:
- Post on your course Quercus discussion board. You can use this template to help you write your post:
- My name is [Insert name] and I’m a Leader for a Recognized Study Group (RSG) for [Insert course ]. Our group will meet [insert meeting day and time (EST)]. We’ll meet each week to study together, help understand course material and prepare for tests. You can join our RSG on the Sidney Smith Commons Online to find the RSG with our course name and meeting time.
We can have up to 8 people in our RSG and we all can get a CCR credit. If you have any questions about joining the RSG, please let me know! - RSG Leader Graphic (Quercus)

POST A WELCOME ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RSG MEMBERS
Once you have emailed us your Zoom meeting link, you can now create an announcement on your Quercus Study Group homepage for members to read when they get added. Here’s how you can access and post an announcement:
- Go to Quercus, U of T’s online learning platform.
- Log in using your UTORid and password.
- You should be able to access the Arrive Ready to Study course on your Quercus
Dashboard. - Once you are logged in to Quercus and in your Arrive Ready to Study Course, click on “People” on the left-hand side.
- Click the “Groups” tab.
- Find your study group by searching for your course code and meeting time. Your group will have an unlocked icon, instead of a locked one.
- Once you are on your study group home page, you can add an announcement by clicking Announcements on the left column or + Announcement on the right column.
- Introduce yourself and welcome everyone to your study group.
- Inform members of your first study group meeting time.
- Provide the Zoom invitation with meeting link, meeting ID & password.
- Click Save.
Please post a reminder of your first meeting one day in advance of the meeting. Be sure to include any points of discussion or questions you would like your members to think about in advance.
